[ rika is sitting in the hotel common room, just kind of idly shuffling a deck of cards. may as well! she's not really sure what else to be doing.

when she spots kotetsu she'll give him a little nod in greeting! ]

but all he can do now is approach her. ]

It's a lot to take in, even as an adult. But it's okay if you're also scared.

[ rika gives a good amount of time for other people to tend to kotetsu before she comes to bother him. but once she's sure he's alright, she'll come find him wherever he's at. ]

I've had better days. [ laughs a little ] But I'm doing okay.

[ well, good. that makes it easier for her to pat his head - though it's a bit gentler and slower than the usual way she tends to pat people as a joke. ]

[ He's out wandering, but it looks like he's on his way back to the mansion for some rest. His pants appear to be a bit damp, but otherwise nothing out of sorts. When he spots Rika, he'll give a wave. ]

Interesting place this time, isn't it?

[ he goes to put something from his other hand in his pocket and oops, he drops a shard. he does go to pick it up, but you know, stomach injury. ]

[ ah... even without hearing much of the dialogue, the memory is easy to understand. it's heartwarming. rika was already under the impression that kotetsu is a good person, and by extension probably a good father. or maybe vice versa.

at least, a kinder parent than she remembers having. (but those memories are so old she can barely call on them at all.)

[ sup, roomie? this injured tiger probably get help back from sholmes and had to chat with him a little bit.

but for now he's resting on the bed. finley, in her rabbit form, is curled up on his lap. ]

it's subdued - she isn't used to dealing with people being injured. her experiences tend to be that people are either totally fine or dead. and she isn't exactly the worrying type, ordinarily.

but she's like... making sure he has water within reach! and constantly just looking over to make sure he doesn't need anything. this is stressful... ]
