[ hello, rika is at the edge of the bubble, just... putting her hands flat on it. she isn't pressing down very hard because she doesn't want to get yeeted into the depths of the sea and die, but like.

This is amazing! We're like fishies. Glub, glub, glub.
[ well except for that they're surrounded by air but sure! ]
It's about a man who rescues a turtle from some mean, mean kids. Then the turtle takes him to the beautiful Palace of the Dragon God, under the sea, where he has a good time with the emperor and the lovely princess. But he decides to go back up to the surface after three days. The princess is sad, but she sees him off with a gift! A box that he's told to never open.
But when he gets back to the surface, everything is different. Instead of three days passing, it's been three hundred years, and everyone he knows is long-dead.
In his grief, he opens the box - and instantly ages those three hundred years, himself.
Indeed, there are many who yearn for the city life. I do not suspect three-hundred years will have passed once you are able to return home, but in due time you will have the freedom to travel wherever it is you wish.
[ Gradually making his way through the markets, Alphinaud glances around at the overgrowth taking over the open areas. As Esmerie climbs around the flora and debris, once she spots a familiar face, she chirps brightly at her. ]
—Oh, hello there, Rika. Finding yourself to do a bit of exploring as well?
[ And he will happily accept! In response, Alphinaud chuckles. ]
Nature has its ways of reclaiming the land in the absence of man. 'Twas not so apparent in the underwater city, but here, life can more easily flourish.
[ Sometimes you're out just trying to enjoy your day when
uh
straight up murder happens over and over. Needless to say, Alphinaud is... pretty horrified by this! Though it shows from the perspective of another, there are names mentioned, and so– ]
By—by the gods. Rika, you mustn't look!
[ In the end, he doesn't truly realize what is playing before them within the shard; thinking it a cruel trick, Alphinaud attempts to gently pull Rika away, shielding her face. ]

Yes! This place is very pretty! It's like the forest accidentally turned into part of the city.
